Carasau Bread

Carasau bread (also known as pane carasatu, pane carasadu, pane fine, pane 'e fresa, or pane fatu in fresa) is a typical Sardinian bread, widespread throughout Sardinia, shaped like a very thin and crispy slice, suitable for long storage. Carasau comes from the Sardinian verb carasare, which means to toast. During the "carasadura" the bread is put back in the oven for the final baking, which makes it crispy.

Because of its particular crunchiness, which makes it noisy when chewed, it is sometimes called "music paper".
